The Temple

By Bible Names of God

"And I saw no temple therein; for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it." Revelation 21:22

What a wonderful Temple! He is the Temple! The city is four-square, as was the Holy of Holies; twelve thousand furlongs-fifteen hundred square miles! Whatever significance there may be in the dimensions and the structure-whether literal or pictorial-it means, "Great in size; rich in adornment." The city is of pure gold, like clear glass; walls of jasper, upon that sapphire, then chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst; gates of one pearl; streets of gold. We stand in awe, but-glory be to God-we anticipate with increasing joy the vision which awaits us and its full realization.

Blessed One, keep us close to Thee with open ears and open eyes, as we await the realization of our fond anticipation. Amen.
