Lord of Lords

By Bible Names of God

"For He is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with Him are called, and chosen and faithful." Revelation 17:14

From the story of the Garden of Eden until the scene described in this verse, the powers of earth and hell have fought against our Lord. The prince of this world and the prince of the power of the air has shown his Satanic hatred for Christ, who is the Promised One and who will bruise his head. The world has been the sphere of the conflict of the ages, but, thanks be to God, there is coming a day when that war will cease and that is the day which is portrayed in this verse. All of the kings must bow to Him. It has been an age-long conflict but the end must come. We look forward to the victory which is prophesied.

Thou, who dost hold the worlds in the hollow of Thy hand, hasten the glad, victorious day of Thy coming. Amen.
