Jesus Christ the Righteous

By Bible Names of God

"If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous." 1 John 2:1

Jesus Christ if the Righteous One. "Righteous" means "right" or "just." There never was another perfectly righteous man, for the Scripture says, "There is none righteous; no not one." "All have sinned." No unrighteous man could be our Advocate or Judge. He must Himself be just, and He is, and He is also the Justifier. (Romans 3:20). What a consolation to us as poor sinners to know that we are justified from all things from which we could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Lord Jesus, we pour out our hearts to Thee. Thou hast settled forever what we could never have settled. Hallelujah! Amen.
