"A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched and not man." Hebrews 8:2
We are carried back to the picture of the Tabernacle and of the Temple where God's High Priest officiated. He represented God in all of the ceremonies of the Holy Assembly. Here we have the promised Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ, in the capacity of the Minister (or servant) of the Sanctuary. He is the King, but He is still a Servant of men, serving in our behalf, loving us, ministering to us. Dwelling in our heart by the Holy Spirit, He performs every needed function in the cleansing and preparing of His people for their access to God.
