      "Who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead." Colossians 1:18

      He is the Beginning. Who is? The "First-born from the dead." By His resurrection, He inaugurated a new era, the beginning of a new life-eternal life. He is the "First-fruits of them that slept," the Prince of life. He solved the problem forever. He rose from the dead. He conquered death. His resurrection assures the resurrection of the bodies of all those who sleep in Him. The mystery is solved. There can be no end to this eternal life which we have through faith in Him, for it is His life. Let us stop and meditate today upon all that it means.

      Thou blessed Lord, who art the beginning of that life in us that is insured forever, help us to tell the story to others. Amen.
