"Who is the emage of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature" Colossians 1:15
"The first-born of every creature," meaning "of every thing made." So many statements in the Scripture make plain the fact that God and Christ are One. He is the manifestation of God. He unites man and God. The invisible God has become visible to men, in Jesus Christ, He is the Sovereign Lord of creation by primogeniture; the Head of the natural creation and of the new creation, so that He is intimately allied to us. He is the first begotten from the dead. We could write a book about it, but a Book has been written.
Blessed Lord, our First-born, to whom we are united forever, help us to glorify Thee today. Amen.
