"But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." Philippians. 2:7
Isaiah spoke concerning Him: "Behold, my servant shall deal prudently. He shall be exalted and extolled very high." "His visage was marred more than any man." The meaning of the word "servant" is "a doer" or "a slave." He was God manifest in the flesh, but "He emptied Himself," made Himself of "no reputation." Christ is the second Adam. He is the representative of perfect manhood. As a servant, He humbled Himself. From what lofty heights -Creator of all things down to a servant of men, step by step in service to the whipping post and the cross. What an example for us is He -the Servant!
Oh, Christ our Beloved, help us to follow in Thy footsteps and be in deed and in truth Thy chosen servants. Amen.
