      "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept." 1 Cor. 15:20

      Here is an emphatic statement, "Now is Christ risen." There can be no challenge over this fact. The church itself is the challenge to all doubters. The Bible, the lives of believers, all witness to the fact of His resurrection. He is the first-fruits, and every believer looks forward with glad anticipation to the coming day of all days when the trumpet shall sound and "the dead in Christ shall rise first." This is the blessed hope -to be with Him and like Him forever.

      Make this a glad day, our Lord, as we contemplate this wonderful truth and think of Thee as the coming, glorious One. Amen.
