"But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:24
When we use the word "power," we are possessed with a strange sensation. Every fibre of our beings is tense and we think of might and authority. So when we think of our Lord Jesus Christ we can visualize Him as the Mighty One. From a power-house the electric current issues and darkness is displaced by light; the engine is umbued with life and moves the train carrying, perchance, the armies of a nation. So our Lord Jesus Christ is the Power of God, for all power is committed unto Him. He speaks and it is done! And this Powerful One has said, "Ask and ye shall receive." How wonderful that He should love such as we!
Lord Jesus, we commend ourselves to Thee today and rest in faith in the power of Thy love for us. Amen.
