"But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you." Acts 3:14
Peter is delivering a sermon to the Jews. They had looked with wonder at the lame man healed by the hand of Peter, and Peter was taking advantage of the opportunity to set before them the resurrected Christ as the One whom they had condemned but whom God had raised from the dead, to whom he gives this title "Holy One and Just." And such is He, the Spotless One, without sin, God manifest in the flesh. Do we recognize Him as the Holy One? Sometimes familiarity breeds indifference. May it never be so with us. Every suggestion of "the Holy One" should stir our souls in adoration and holy desire to be like Him.
Oh, Thou Holy One, may we seek earnestly this day to live as in Thy sight, adoring Thee constantly. Amen.
