"While I was with them in the world I kept them in Thy name; those that Thou gavest Me I have kept." John 17:12
This prayer on the night before His crucifixion is one of sacred sweetness and comfort. While He was here He guarded and kept His own. Now He is in the glory and still guards and keeps us. The enemy, Satan, who captured and controlled Judas, would separate us, if he could, from our Lord; but He is our Keeper and we can trust in His unfailing promise: "I will him keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Me because he trusteth in Me." The enemy has ten thousand agents seeking to spoil our lives, but nothing can separate us from the love of God as manifested in Christ Jesus our Lord.
"Now unto Him who is able to keep us from falling *** to the only wise God, our Saviour, be glory, forever." Amen
