John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
We shall have several meditations on our Lord as Shepherd, but here He Speaks of Himself as "Good Shepherd". God is good, and Jesus is God! Therefore, He is Good. If we could stop for a few moments and sense His presence, longing to Speak to us in tones of deepest Love, with His wonderful eyes fixed upon us, and His Holy desire to draw us in Loving tenderness to Him --- would we not say of Him, "He is good. He died for me!"? And would not our hearts go out in passionate love to Him?
Loving Shepherd, help us to keep close to Thee today. Amen.
