By Bible Names of God
Luke 2:12 And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
Again the voice of the angel rings out to the shepherds: "Christ the Lord --- the Babe --- lying in a manger." How easy it would be for the shepherds to find Him. No other newly born babe would be found "lying in a manger" --- just One --- and He, the altogether lovely One, the chiefest among then thousand! Sometimes the saints magnify their human birthright and place of birth, but He was to be a blessing to the humblest. Would not the cattle --- could they have sensed the significance of the event --- have bent their knees in homage to the Babe? How sad to know that millions in our own land have not yet bowed the knee to Him.
Lord, may we who have named Thy Name, bow in humblest submission to Thee today and pour out our hearts in joyful praise to Thee, Thou Babe of Bethlehem. Amen.
