Luke 1:78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, {tender...: or, bowels of the mercy} {dayspring: or, sunrising, or, Branch}
Zacharis is inspired as his soul goes forth to speak of the coming of the Messiah. It has been suggested that the glory of the sunrise was breaking over the hills surrounding Jerusalem and the golden glory lighted up the horizon as his lips breathed the words inspired by the Spirit of God, "Dayspring from on High!" Perhaps the morning glory brought to the mind of Zacharis the message of Isaiah, "Arise, shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee."
Before we take up our daily tasks, let us turn our eyes to the heavens with grateful hearts and let the Holy Spirit flood our souls with the glory of the Risen, Coming Christ. Amen.
