Mark 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
This question was asked of our Lord by a young man with great possessions, as recorded in Mt 19:17. This is the concrete question of the soul of man, "What to do to secure a right to Heaven?" The theme of religion is "do"; but the theme of our Lord was just the opposite, "Follow Me!" Eternal Life is a Gift. Those who accept and follow Him find that He Is the "Good Master" because He Is the "God-Master", for only One is Good and He Is God, and He has provided for us a salvation --- simple to accept but costing Him a price which involved His Own Life. How gracious is our God and how we should love and adore Him!
Lord, may we walk in the sunshine of Thy Love today. Amen.
