This is a prophesy relating to Christ's first coming. The date was fixed, and the conditions were definite, --- the Jews in the land, the "Child" to be born, and vs 26 tells us of His death. But --- He is the Messiah, the Prince! What a wonderful Book is the Bible! What a host of names and titles it contains for our Lord! They are not all in one book, but all are in The Book. How our souls should be knit with His as we view Him day by day in the different aspects suggested by these names, and then remember that He is "the same, yesterday, today, forever."
We bow to Thee, our Messiah and Prince, and pour out our souls to Thee in adoration. Keep us close. Amen.
