THE HOPE OF ISRAEL

By Bible Names of God

Jere 14:8 O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man [that] turneth aside to tarry for a night?

The promised Messiah was the "Hope of Israel" and He is the hope of all believers. Without Him how hopeless we are! "Christ in us" is the "hope of Glory". Paul, writing to Timothy, says: "I am an apostle of Jesus Christ by the Commandment of God our Saviour and the Lord Jesus Christ, Which is our hope." The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is the hope of the Church and our eyes are fixed upon the Heavens and our ears tuned to catch the sound of the shout with which He will come. A fixed hope? --- a faith-giving hope? --- a joy-giving hope? --- is our hope "fixed on nothing less than Jesus' Blood and Righteousness?"

May the daily cry of our heart be, "Come Lord Jesus, come quickly!" Amen.
