By Bible Names of God
Psal 144:1 Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight: {strength: Heb. rock} {to war...: Heb. to the war, etc} 2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he] in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. {My goodness: or, My mercy}
There is one thing that every one of us can truthfully say, "There is no goodness in us by nature." If there is any goodness in us, it is Himself Who dwells in us. "Oh how great is Thy goodness which Thou hast laid up for them that fear Thee." "Let Thy saints rejoice in Thy goodness." Paul tells us that the "fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness" and our Lord has promised that all goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our life and we shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. What a wonderful promise from our wonderful Lord.
Thou, Who art our Goodness, help us to trust and follow Thee all the days of our earthly life. Amen.
